Earplugs only protect you if they seal your ear canal. A loose fit can let most of the sound straight through, so it is worth getting this right once.
1. Start with size S
Every box comes with XS, S and L tips. Most people fit S. Try it in both ears before switching.
2. Open up the ear canal
Reach over your head with the opposite hand and gently pull the top of your ear up and back. This straightens the canal.
3. Push and twist
Push the earplug in with a slight twist until it feels snug and secure. It should not hurt.
4. Check the seal
Talk out loud. Your voice should sound a little deeper and louder inside your head. If it sounds the same as before, try the next size up. If it feels tight or pops out, go one size down.
5. Keep them clean
Wipe the tips with a damp cloth after use, let them dry and keep them in the pocket case so they are ready for the next show.
